I cringe at the word passion, I wince at being asked how I do social justice, and when the word Biblical is put in front of everything (Biblical texting, Biblical facebooking = completely illogical). A new one of mine is appreciate. What does this word mean? Sometimes great friends use it to truly express how they feel, other times I wonder if it is a cold way of saying thank you without having to say much at all. Obviously in love is another one to which I raise my eyebrows in wonder.
Tell me about those words and phrases you really don't like. Let it all out, it's OK.

Intuitive .
As in Macs are intuitive. What does that mean?
Grrrrrr
"have a good one" instead of "have a good day" It makes me twitch when I hear it. Also sometimes I am bothered when someone chooses to say "No Problem" instead of "You're welcome" but it can depend upon the tone used and the circumstances. If the person says "no problem" without a flippant tone, and instead stays with a more heartfelt tone, then it doesn't rub me wrong
That is so "amazing." [wince] It's like nails on a chalkboard.
Awesome. Totally misused.
God is awesome. Totally deserving of that word.
Chocolate cake, or a child running on a soccer field - not so awesome. Good, yes, but not awesome.
Emma, I read this post weeks ago when you wrote it and it's been bugging me ever since. (Don't worry, it's not your semantics.) What does that mean how do you DO social justice? Who's asking you that and what do they mean by that? How do you define social justice?
