Possibly my favorite weekend of the year.

So, I graduate from college and all I want to talk about is my love of dogs and now a sausage. Trying to take a break from the serious spiritual thoughts I usually harp on. Oh, trust me, my mind has not gone blank. I'm still as serious as ever. Maybe it is because my mother and I have been sitting around everyday discussing spiritual matters that I'm just too worn out to talk about them here.

Dear, dear brat fest. Cheap brats, semi-warm soda, toppings lined up and melting in the sun. Everything about brat fest, I love. Crowds and crowds of Wisconsinite's in their cutoffs and other inappropriate summer wear we have no desire to see. Understandably so, we wait seven long months for any semblance of summer, so when it comes, we take it seriously. Chicago is like this too, I can feel it - Midwesterner's are determined to get their fresh air, and get it they will!

Brat fest also has a carnival, now, but I have never gone on any of the rides. Something about stuffing away two (three) brats leaves me less than anxious to be tipped upside down. I'll go to brat fest today, and tomorrow, probably Sunday and definitely Monday. With my family, with my friends, we'll wander around, discussing how many brats we ate last year and how many we can eat this year. We will sit in the hot plastic chairs and complain that we are sweating, but we will love that we are sweating and not shivering. Ah. Brat fest. See you soon!
